BRIEFING

This page will give you a transparent peek into my war plans for no purpose other than to help hold me more accountable. I also just like to keep my inner circle informed on what I’m up to as I always have many irons in the fire.

Through these reports, I will reveal to you some (not all) of the major goals and objectives I am pushing toward in both my personal life and my business endeavors.

War Planning is what I call my planning system and the process behind it. I do it every day in some capacity but the reports I will share here with you will always be quarterly-based updates.

In each of these reports, I will provide a recap of the previous quarter’s results and a projection of the foreseeable future.

SITREP

These public goals reports are something that I’ve wanted to do for quite a few years now so I am excited to finally be able to do them. As I mentioned in the briefing, I am doing this purely for my accountability and to keep those who care informed on what I’m up to. I have always been an advocate for transparency. I think there’s a lot of power to be harnessed from vulnerability. I don’t share every intimate detail of my life, but I do share a lot, and I hope that by doing so I can inspire someone somewhere to take action on their goals.

I also hope that sharing some of my mistakes along the way can help others avoid the same struggles. Life is both victory and defeat. We are what lies between the two. Forged from our wins and our losses. The good and the bad. The light and the darkness. Not just the emotions we enjoy, but also the ones that make us uncomfortable. You can learn from both sides of the spectrum so long as you have the right mindset. There’s always a lesson to be learned.

With all that said, let’s get into the situation… Check out my Optics page to get more insight into what I’ve accomplished leading up to recent years. What we’ll talk about in this report is confined to this past quarter (3 months) and the goals and objectives below are based on the current quarter.

HIGHLIGHT REEL

  • New Tribe Members – We organically recruited a handful of new members to the Warrior Tribe. Multiple of them were female too which is something I’ve wanted for a while. Our audience at MASK is something like 97% male so it’s nice to get some women in the mix too. Full families are the goal. We’ve not been running ads or marketing the past few years while we focused on infrastructure improvements, but we’re firing all these things back up very soon and I have some big goals for our tribe’s growth this year and beyond.

  • Massive Improvements To The Warrior OS – This is my entire life’s operating system. It’s a command center built on Notion to manage my entire life in one place. It’s probably the best thing I’ve ever created and I’ve created a ton of great things. I am always finding new ways to improve it and make it more functional with every new feature Notion drops. If you’re interested in this system be sure to check out Operation: Optimize.

  • Guitar & Drums – If you follow me you know I recently acquired my first e-kit, The Alesis Nitro Max. I’ve spent a fair amount of time practicing with the help of the Drumeo platform. It’s been great and I plan to fully subscribe to it. My kit came with a free 90-day trial so I took advantage as much as I could. I also got my electric guitar properly set back up to fix some intonation issues. — Furthermore, me and my engineer Wrecktify got both my guitar and drum kit configured and connected to my DAW so now I can track and record quality guitar through my audio interface instead of having to mic up an amp. Now I have access to an infinite amount of digital amps and drum kits.

  • New Music – Dropped What’s Real and scheduled my next drop Outsider for release. I have a lot of music in the queue and I plan to drop a lot more singles. I’m aiming for one a month for the foreseeable future. I decided at the beginning of this year to shift my focus from completing an album to dropping singles. I want to get more experience under me and do some more experimenting before I lock into the album. I’m still working on it. I’m just not putting a deadline on it right now and I am instead just focusing on having fun and developing my craft a bit more. The good news for you guys is that this means you will get more new music faster.

  • 1:1 & Family Time – I’ve got to spend a decent amount of time on family activities the past few months. I’ve been making this more of a priority. As an entrepreneur of my caliber, it’s very easy to let work get in the way of what matters most so I am a lot more intentional about this today. I aim to get 1:1 time with both the kids and the wife as well as full family time doing productive and fun things. We’ve been making music together, rollerblading, Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu, and hitting the parks a lot more. Planning to do a ton more kayaking, biking, and more moving forward.

  • New Schwinn Mountain Bike & Helmet – I was intent on getting a deal for this endeavor. I waited nearly 2 years for this deal to fall in my lap for my bike and I saved roughly $200 on it. I also found a great deal on my helmet. Both things are basically brand new for 1/4th the cost. Found them on the FB market! Patience pays off. Now that I got mine the goal is to get the rest of the family proper mountain bikes for us to all ride together. The kids have bikes now but they’re ready for new ones. So we’re going to find them some deals next.

  • Fitness – I crafted a couple of new athletic-focused routines recently. Still strength-based at the core but utilizes some dynamic plyometric movements. I’ve been following a pretty strict regimen for years now and kinda got burnt out and I am reaching a stage in life where I want to prioritize mobility and function over putting on pure mass. I want functional strength. I am very much building my body but I have no plans to get massive in the foreseeable future. I’m not ruling it out though. I love this process and it’s become a crucial part of my lifestyle.

  • Home – We have some big plans to focus on improving our backyard area here at home. I’ve recently made some “blueprints” to get the design figured out. My studio is back here and is the main thing right now but we have a lot of space to work with. We plan to build a small pool for the kids, get a cold plunge, hot tub, a climbing dome, a covered outdoor workout pad, and just overall spruce it up so that we can enjoy our home much more. Going out is expensive lol. Especially with kids! This project will take some time and money but we’ve begun the process.

LOWLIGHT REEL

  • ArchiBall WitWicky Died – My ball python… No idea why. His conditions were perfect, he was fed, and everything was as it should be. I had him for 4-5 years and expected to have him a lot longer. My only guess is that his last rat was carrying something and it got him sick somehow. Losing A snake isn’t like a dog but it still sucks… Ol’ Son loved him too. He was the perfect aesthetic for the studio too… I won’t be getting another anytime soon though. Kind of a money pit. Rats are way too expensive for what they are. Probably going to go with a fish tank of some kind next.

  • Stomach Flu & BJJ – I was aiming for and should have recently been promoted to Purple belt in BJJ but I ended up not getting to attend the test day recently due to catching the worst stomach bug I’ve ever had in my life. This sucks cause it sets me back on this goal a smidge. Hopefully, I’ll be able to test again soon. The kids missed out on promotions because of this too. Hard to control this though. — I also ended up getting my first tap on a black belt recently which was pretty cool, except for the fact that I got my elbow hyperextended on the follow-up roll lol. It was an accident but still ended up being an injury that has bogged me down the past couple of weeks. Nothing major though. It’s almost back to normal.

  • Nutrition – Slacked on my nutrition plan quite a bit. It didn’t affect me too badly due to the sheer amount of training I do. I was able to maintain weight but did put on a few bad pounds. Nothing I can’t fix though and I am currently buckling back down. My nutrition plan is relatively relaxed and it’s more about how much I’m eating and when I’m eating it than it is what I’m eating. I try to do a lot of fasting. Nutrition has always been my greatest struggle. Food addiction is a serious battle that people don’t talk about enough. I will say this though… Our Warrior Tribe and our WASP (Warrior Accountability & Strategy Partner) program have helped me make significant strides in controlling this aspect of my life a lot better. If you need some help with this area of life maybe we can help you too. Check it out.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

PERSONAL

  • BJJ Purple Belt – My goal right now is to get my purple belt. The ultimate goal is black. I plan to compete in MMA again as well as some kickboxing and BJJ competitions. I’ve come a long way in all of my combative skill sets but there’s always another level to the game. The next level for me is to get my purple belt.

  • Complete Twelve 1:1 Date Nights – This is a running goal I’ve had for the past year. Getting closer to everyone in my family is important to me. We enjoy our family time but I make it a mission of mine to get 1 on 1 time with each of them. As of right now, I have completed 9/12 of them. So the goal over the next 3 months is to complete the remaining 3. Then I will probably set another similar goal. My memory isn’t the greatest so I keep meticulous records of my entire life. I have a system in my Warrior OS that tracks every date we go on, what we did, how it went, and it stores any media I capture from the date. I like to have things like this to reflect on and leave behind when I die.

  • Health & Fitness – My ultimate goal weight is 175lbs lean and mean. Right now I am sitting at about 218lbs. (I used to be 271 with a much higher body fat percentage.) I am night and day different than the man I used to be. I can’t even recognize him anymore. In fact, I tell people all the time that Ian is dead. I am simply Primal now. My goal over the next 3 months is to get down to 200lbs. — At a certain point I will start sharing my transformation publically. I have some special things planned for this so I am keeping it under wraps for now.

  • House – Doing a lot of work on our backyard this year. The goal over the next 3 months is to get our new side exterior door and deck to the backyard built as well as get the landscaping cleaned up and refreshed. Lots of weeds to pull and rocks to move. After that, we will focus on the amenities we have planned like the workout zone, cold plunge, hot tub, pool, fancy lighting, etc…

PRIMAL OPTICS

  • Drop 20 Singles – Since I decided to hold off on my album earlier this year I have committed to dropping singles in the meantime. These singles are simply me exploring my vocal and production capabilities trying to find my pockets and develop as an artist. There’s so much to learn in the music game. It’s honestly extremely overwhelming at times but I know that if I keep focusing on having fun and putting in the work I will master this like I do anything else I put my mind to. So far I have dropped 11/20 singles for this goal. Over the next 3 months, I plan to drop at least 3 more, possibly 4. I’m somewhat at the mercy of my engineer’s time constraints but we have a lot of projects that are fairly close to completed. It also goes without saying that dropping songs comes with content creation demands and lots of marketing. It’s a lot of work but I enjoy it all. Pursuing music again at this stage in my life has been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It’s my absolute favorite thing to do and I appreciate those of you who listen to my tunes. Be sure to join my Wolfgang!

MASK TACTICAL

  • Grow The Tribe – Operation: Traffic Jam is in full swing and the goal for the next 3 months is to launch brand new advertising campaigns again. Last time we did this we almost went to the moon but I made mistakes and it cost us big time. This time around will be much different. We will be turning ads back on Facebook first then possibly more platforms as we keep growing. Right now the aim is to just get a couple of solid campaigns back up and running. We’re starting small and simple. It’s very easy to burn money in advertising so I am being extremely calculated this time around. – Beyond paid traffic, I am also pushing to get more content creation and SEO optimization going so we can attack it from both the paid side and the organic side. Loads of work to do here.

  • Operation: Optimize 2.0Optimize is one of our Layer 1 digital training programs at MASK. For the last few months, I’ve been rebuilding our LMS to host our courses in a better, more efficient environment with richer functionality. That project is mostly complete and now the focus is on curriculum updates for this course. I have a ton of new lessons to create over the next quarter.

  • The Warrior OS 2.0 – Part of Operation: Optimize is the Warrior Operating System. I have decided to extract it from the course and sell it as a standalone product for those who might not desire all the life coaching aspects of Operation: Optimize. It will still be in the course, but I want to sell it independently as well. Right now the course contains the 1.o OS template. I’ve made a million improvements to it since I launched the first one so it’s due for an update as well. My goal over the next quarter is to complete this template update and launch it by itself. Again, loads of training to create for this too.

  • The Primal Method – My book has been published for a handful of years now but I still have a lot I want to do for it. The goal for the next quarter is to design new mockups for marketing and SEO graphics, as well as a create nice video or two for advertising purposes.
